Swansea Spirit - Ragged School
Saturday 10th - 11am to 5pm / Sunday 11th - midday to 4pm

The Old Ragged School Building, in the midst of Swansea's Art and Educational Centre, now houses SwanseaSpirit, Healing and Psychic Educational Centre. Initially founded in the 1800s, and rebuilt in 1911 (this is our centenary year!), the Ragged School was originally a soup kitchen for the underprivileged children in the Centre of Swansea. Relocated to its present site when Swansea Cooperation decided to build the Police Station, it is one of the few buildings in the City Centre to have survived Swansea’s three Night’s Blitz. Our basement was even used as a public air raid shelter!

The history of this building is varied and, amongst other groups, it has been home to Swansea’s Boys Club, The Ragged School Football Team, A Boxing Gym, a Gospel Mission and now SwanseaSpirit. So, even today it is still used as a sanctuary of education, healing, comfort and love.

Come along and experience the unique peaceful atmosphere of the building and find out about its varied history and how it is used today.
Everyone is welcome; no booking necessary, guided tours.
