Swansea Open House was founded in 2004. Since then it has grown year on year.

The event opens up buildings to the public for free every September. Most of the participating buildings are not normally accessible to the public and the event provides a once a year chance to see behind the scenes. Where buildings are normally accessible, they open for free and/or provide additional activities, talks, tours or events as part of the Swansea Open House event.

The event is based on a successful model used in London and New York, with whom we have links.

Swansea Open House is part of the European Heritage Days initiative and is affiliated to the Open Doors initiative organised by the Civic Trust Wales.
